1980s Yugoslav Amber Bubble Glass Ceiling Light, Satin Brass Semi-Flush Mount, Mushroom Lamp

Honey-toned amber glass filled with tiny air bubbles gives this redesigned ceiling light its distinctive character. The softly rounded, mushroom-shaped shade catches the light beautifully, while satin-finished brass fittings complement its warm colour.

The original hand-blown glass shade comes from a Sijaj Hrastnik light made in Yugoslavia in the 1980s. We paired this vintage shade with entirely new fittings and electrical components to create a compact semi-flush mount ceiling light, giving a beautiful piece of Yugoslav lighting design a new life.

The many air bubbles suspended within the glass create depth and a lively play of light. They are part of the shade’s handmade character, making it just as interesting when switched off as when illuminated.

Its short brass stem keeps the fixture close to the ceiling while allowing the sculptural glass to stand out. A lovely accent for an entrance hall, bedroom, kitchen or cosy dining nook, this light suits mid century, retro, rustic and eclectic interiors.
